Zeplin for figma12/29/2023 Create a project, invite your team, and export your first ready-to-build design Resources. Sign up for free using your Figma login, Google login, or SSO. That’s all there is to using Zeplin with Figma! As you can see, it’s super simple and makes design handoffs a breeze. Install, then run the Zeplin plugin in your Figma instance. Developers can then use these comments and annotations to quickly understand your design intent and turn it into code. From here, you can add comments and annotations to specific elements in your design. This will open up the Zeplin interface in a new tab. You can register or log in to Zeplin using your Figma login credentials. The iO developer team uses Zeplin’s API with Prism to automatically fetch color values, text styles, icons, and more from Zeplin and input them (as platform-specific code) to the codebase. Once Zeplin is connected, you’re ready to start using it! To do this, simply open up a Figma file that you want to hand off to a developer and click on the “Zeplin” button in the top bar. Create a project (if you haven't been invited to one) You will be prompted to connect your Zeplin account to the Figma plugin then you can create a project. To do this, click on the “Connect” button and log in with your Figma credentials. Once Zeplin is installed, you’ll need to connect it to your Figma account. Unlike the two aforementioned, Zeplin is not an independent UI design tool, which means you have to create and edit the design in other standalone tools like Sketch and Figma and then import the draft into Zeplin to use its features. We recommend only using Zeplin with Figma if you are experienced with both tools and are comfortable troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Zeplin is a tool that helps your team collaborate and organize a project seamlessly. PRO TIP: Please be aware that using Zeplin with Figma may result in decreased performance and/or unexpected behavior.
